From 12th-17th September, I was lucky enough to assist sustainable fashion designers, Vin and Omi, in their latest collection, utilising nettles from Prince Charles's Garden. It was an incredible experience, and something that I will be forever grateful for. Everyday I knew whatever I did would ultimately serve a huge purpose on the catwalk, and I was incredibly keen to learn whatever I could. Throughout the week, I assisted during the fittings, and eventually was in charge of them by the end of the week. I also helped in the creation of some of the clothes, by tagging patches onto garments. I assisted in the creation of the finale dress as well, which involved stitching nettles and tagging them onto the garment. As well as this, I assisted on the day in the dressing and styling of the different looks. It was an incredible week and is definitely one I won't forget, and will utilise many of the skills I learnt throughout this year of my degree work.
